Up and running as we enter February

Business

January has certainly been a busy start to the year, which is great. The Wake Hereward Project is coming along and so is the development of The Bench short film.

But to start off, I am going to promote a friend's business. Jane is a publisher, Bird's Nest Books, and she is organising a "virtual blogging tour" for one of her authors Ross Mountney. Don't worry, I have never heard of one before either. It's all very experimental. If you are interested in parenting and /or Home Education, Ross will be appearing at several blog sites over the next few days to promote her new books and answer questions, so there is plenty of opportunity to catch her.

Filming

Ongoing projects so far.

Hereward

The plan is to film throughout the year about Hereward the Wake who was prominent in the Fenland area in the 11 Century, who led a local resistance against the Norman Conquest. 1066 and all that.

On 28 Jan 17 we held a presentation evening at Crowland Abbey, Lincolnshire, where David Maile talked about some of the history behind Hereward the Wake and Malcolm Busby told some fascinating stories from the Fens. We were thrilled to have the first part of the reconstructed Bayeux Tapestry being produced by Mia Hansson. We were also supported by archeologist, Alex Fisher giving insight into the local area.

To find out more about the project and if you would like to follow what we get up to, then go to Facebook for more information or at David's blog

The Bench

The Bench is a script that has been written by the local author Jon Lawrence. Hopefully, we shall be finally filming in the next few weeks. More information to come. We have had several rehearsals and a dry run through on location, which was very cold and a good learning process. It highlighted how bleak and open the location is and what we additional items we will require while filming.

Writing

I have several writing projects on the go at the moment.

A Book

Editing my book is coming along nicely. Once finished I will be looking for a target audience to read it to make sure it is aimed at the right level.

Scripts

I have a few scripts in long term development. Two are feature film scripts and another is a WW2 drama similar to the "Home from Home" that I wrote for 20Twenty Productions CIC back in 2015. There is so much the Fens has to offer for films and storytelling which has been overlooked for years.

So much more to do...

Thank you for joining me. Until next time. Good bye.
