[Writing] - Sons of the Fens

Sons of the Fens

This is a personal project with the aim to create an immersive theatre experience in our loacl area. The show is not due to be performed until next autumn and there is a lot of stages to go through to ger final project they way we want it.

I am David Johnson, (Creator / Writer / Director) and with the help of Emma Cracknell (Researcher / Co-Developer / Co-Director) we are trying to create an accurate as possible representation of what life was like in the fens when they were being drained.  Apart from lots of reading we are visiting several locations in the fenlands that provide information that can be used. Hopefully we can document as much as possible here and I hope you can follow and support our project as we go along.

I am also running a facebook page following its development, if you want more details then follow the link.

Today was a visit to Peterborough Museum, sadly we weren't able to film but it was a useful trip giving us a better insight into the flora and fauna in the fens and has give us the chance to layout the story structure of the play. Big wins all round.

Update video of project - Coming soon.
