Business
Happy New Year to everybody out there. We start by welcoming in 2017. I am really looking forward to what lies ahead this year with several projects on the horizon which I am really excited about.
After being active for a couple of months I am now in a position to fine tune what my business going to do and the direction it is heading. Some things will get dropped until I am in a position to offer them as a service in the future. Not gone, just postponed.
Filming
Filming wise, I have two main projects for 2017 so far.
Hereward
The first, is a historic documentary which will be filmed in stages throughout the year. The first part is being filmed next week in the wonderfully historic city of Ely in Cambridgeshire, with the cathedral as a backdrop.
The documentary is about Hereward the Wake who was prominent in the Fenland area in the 11 Century, who led a local resistance against the Norman Conquest. 1066 and all that.
The first part of the filming is a promotional video to promote the project and outline what we are doing for the rest of the year in raising the profile of Hereward the Wake and to leave a lasting message for future generations.
To find out more about the project and if you would like to follow what we get up to, then go to Facebook for more information.
Something of interest if you are in the March area; David Maile will be giving a talk about the project on Wed 11 Jan 2017 at the March Library "The WakeHereward Project - Along the Hereward Way" between 7-9pm. All welcome.
The Bench
The Bench is a script that has been written by the local author Jon Lawrence. We are still in early stages, at the moment, but filming will take place soon, showing the bleakness of the Fens in Autumn/Winter time.
More information will be released as the project develops.
Writing
I have several writing projects on the go at the moment.
A Book
I have taken the plunge into writing my first book, a children's novel which is an action adventure set in East Anglia. I am hoping to have that published this year sometime. More information coming soon.
Scripts
I have a few scripts in long term development. Two are feature film scripts and another is a WW2 drama similar to the "Home from Home" that I wrote for 20Twenty Productions CIC back in 2015. There is so much the Fens has to offer for films and storytelling which has been overlooked for years.
Thank you for joining me. Until next time. Good bye
