[Podcasting] First podcasts in the new setup

In the last couple of months we have been busy with podcasts. It was a tough decision to purchase a dedicated machine for recording podcasts but I am glad we did.

The first podcast (released 8 Mar 2023) was recorded on location at the Jockey Club in Newmarket which was an amazing experience.

 

I am glad I have a background in recording podcasts as it was quite a challenge, not only was this a podcast, it was also being recorded infront of a live audience and the host [Stephen Wallis] was interviewing several guests which brough about its own challenges.

The podcast was for the show The Paddack and the Pavilion twitter.com/ThePaddandPav, a show that focuses on Cricket and Horse racing- current and retired. This show was about the recognition of Ellen Chaloner, a female horse trainer from the 1800s who had to fight to train. A compelling listen.

My role was to setup and produce the show and it was nice not to do the talky big as well. We also videoed the interview which was shown later.

The next podcast released (27 May 2023) was recorded in the new podcast studio which gave it a good testing. Again I was running as a producer and it was for the The Paddack and the Pavilion podcast.

 

At the time of writing the podcast is available but the video is waiting to be released.
