Welcome to Fort Lagoon
We were the company behind the short promo film and trailer for the submersive experience known as Escape from Fort Lagoon, think escape room meets set in a whole town. The towns in this case were Mildenhall, Suffolk and Barruw-in-Furness, Cumbria.
The premise is that this is set in a world where water is a distant memory but Fort Lagoon is a resort for rich people to come and enjoy themselves. Only there is a darker side to the whole facility. As 'guest' you are to solve the riddle of the Spa and find the truth. Follow the clues, talk to the staff and make clendestine meetings.
Filming started on 26 May and wrapped on 28 May. The former being to full dress rehearsal.
There were a dozen locations dotted around the town, each inhabited by a main character from the story. The idea people followed the clues and worked their way around the town till they had what they needed. There were two routes to try to avoid congestion at locations and each group were setting off every 15-20 mins.
We worked with Andrew Callaghan over the weekend who helped get the aerial footage in and around Mildenhall. This was a massive undertaking as getting clearance to fly there took over a week of emails and phone calls with USAF staff based at RAF Mildenhall nearby. We would like to that the staff for making this part posssible and really added something to the filming.
The films are ow available and the team are developing a possible repeat showing next year.
